Our Business | Print |
Our company is located in the northwestern corner of the State of Lower Saxony, between the cities of Wilhelmshaven and Oldenburg, and is one of the largest paper and board producing facilities in Europe.  The City of Varel is situated directly on Jade Bay and belongs to the District of Frisia.

The Jade River flows just to the east of Varel, where it empties into the North Sea.  We take great pride in maintaining high standards of environmental and water protection.  Thus, all of our products carry the prefix, ‘Jade’ in emphasizing this priority.  We here, at the Varel Paper Mill feel that this is, furthermore, a fitting attribute of our product line.  The trademark advertises our proximity to Germany’s first national park, the wadden sea, and also serves as a metaphor for the precious gem, jade.

The Varel Paper Mill was started as a family-operated business.  Over the years we have constantly met ever-growing market challenges by dedicating ourselves to fulfilling the demands of quality, reliability and flexibility in our customer service.   We still hold true to our maxim of using only 100% recycled paper.
